Installation has been made as simple as possible. However, because this is such an extensive component, there are a few things you probably should know.

Automatic Installation

The simplest way to install Deep Pockets II is with the Joomla! Component Installer.

1. Download the DeepPockets.2.0-003.zip file from JoomlaCode.org
2. Login to your Joomla! Administrator and select Installers >> Components
3. Click the Browse button under Upload Package File and select the file you have just downloaded
4. Click Upload File & Install

Now ... during this process, the installation file which is included with the package is going to attempt to upload everything into its correct place. Because Deep Pockets II is distributed with a Menu Link Item (so you can link your Deep Pockets II categories to your Joomla! Menu), it is going to perform a check to see whether or not this can be done automatically.

If you receive a 'SUCCESS' message, you are ready to use your new component.

However ...

If you receive a message stating that Joomla! was not able to move your Menu Link Item:

1. Unzip the package you've just downloaded to a directory on your local computer
2. Use your favourite FTP program to navigate to the folling directory of your Joomla! Installation:


• /administrator/components/com_menus/


3. Using your FTP program, create a directory called deeppockets_category:


• /administrator/components/com_menus/deeppockets_category/


4. Upload all of the files contained with the menu directory of the package
5. Delete the following temporary directory from your Joomla! Installation:


• /administrator/components/com_deeppockets/menu/

Your new component is now ready to use!

Manual Installation

Deep Pockets II is also distributed in a format that allows you to manually install the component.

1. Download the ManInstall.2.0-002.zip file from JoomlaCode.org
2. Unzip the package to a directory on your local computer
3. Using your favourite FTP package upload the /administrator/ and /components/ directories
4. Using PHPMyAdmin or something similar, apply DeepPockets_Full.sql to your database.

Your new component is now ready to use.

Upgrading from Previous Versions

If you are upgrading from a previous version of Deep Pockets II:

1. Download the ManInstall.2.0-002.zip file from JoomlaCode.org
2. Unzip the package to a directory on your local computer
3. Using your favourite FTP package upload the /administrator/ and /components/ directories
4. Using PHPMyAdmin or something similar, apply DeepPockets_Upgrade.sql to your database.

Your upgraded component is now ready to use.
