Deep Pockets II :: Content Categorization, Linking & Sub-Template Management System for Joomla!
What You Want -- Where You Want -- HOW You Want !!

Our brand-new release for the Joomla! Content Management System is a Content Categorization, Linking and Sub-Templating Component that we think the community is going to find very exciting.

In very basic terms, Deep Pockets II allows you to build a nested category structure and link any combination of your Joomla! Content Items, in any order, within any category - AND THEN YOU GET TO CHOOSE A LAYOUT SUB-TEMPLATE TO DISPLAY THAT CONTENT !

And that's not all - Deep Pockets is written with developers in mind. Anyone with a moderate amount of coding experience will be very quickly able to not only add new layout subtemplates, BUT COMPLETELY NEW CONTENT DATA TYPES ALSO !!
Deep Pockets II Categories

Your Deep Pockets II Category Manager is the starting point for any Deep Pockets II Project. You can create as many categories as you require, and you can 'nest' these categories (place inside one another) to any depth that you require.

This is also where you will first become acquainted with the idea of Sub-Templates. Each category that you create has a number of parameters associated with it. The first and most important of these is which Category Sub-Template you will use to render the final category output. Aside from this most important parameter, each Sub-Template may have it's own unique set of associated parameters.
Deep Pockets II File Folders

Each of your Deep Pockets II Categories may contain any number of File Folders, and - just like each of your categories - each of these File Folders has associated with it a number of parameters, the most important being which File Folder Sub-Template will be used to render the items in the folder.

Just as in Joomla!, there are really only 2 ways to render Content Items in a File Folder - Blog-Style or Table-Style. However, there are always instances in which you would like to be able to render items just a little differently. Think, for instance, of a Downloads Directory. Whether you choose to render each download item as a Blog Item or a Table Item, you would always like to be able to display details such as a file or documentation location when displaying download-type items. Or, even if you don't want to display items differently, perhaps you'd like to 'frame' them a little differently to other items on your site.
Deep Pockets II Content Items

Each of your File Folders may contain any number of Content Items. And this is where we get REALLY tricky. The architecture of Deep Pockets II allows for any number of completely different Content Item Types to be utilised by the system.

EVERY CONTENT ITEM TYPE HAS THE SCOPE TO ALTER ITS OUTPUT NOT ONLY COSMETICALLY, BUT FUNCTIONALLY ALSO !! As long as in the end, the data is packaged in a way that your chosen File Folder can render, a programmer of moderate experience should be able to make these things do whatever they can dream up.
